Hot Peel - Additional Instructions

If you've been with us from the beginning, you know we used to use Cold Peel film & then our vendor accidentally switched it up on us. Who knew that was going to be a great accident!?

We will be sticking with Hot Peel transfers permanently! It saves so much time overall, not having to wait until each transfer completely cools to be able to peel it. We also press t-shirts in-house daily for our other businesses and our employees (as well as most all of our transfer customers) absolutely love the Hot Peel vs the Cold Peel we used in the past.

You can find our general pressing instructions included on this page, but please note this is a general guide. We personally press our DTF transfers in-house for 15 sec at 325-328 degrees w/ heavy pressure. Each person's press is different and has different amounts of wear and tear. It is important for you to find your own "sweet spot" for your own press.

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PRESSING ISSUES DUE TO INACCURATE TEMPERATURE OR PRESSURE.

Troubleshooting Tips & Tricks for Pressing

To ensure further success with your DTF Transfers you can also accomodate the following tips:

  • After pressing your DTF transfer, you can use anything on hand (except your bare hand, because transfer will be hot) to help smooth over the transfer. Scissors handle, pressing pillow, mouse pad, etc. are all good examples.
  • Do not peel immediately unless a transfer corner has already lifted and transfer is not resisting you. If it is resisting, you need to let it cool some. You do not want to peel while it is piping hot. Although, they are considered hot peel, there does need to be at least a 5-10 sec wait as shown in the instructions. And sometimes even a 15-20sec wait is necessary. And the previous suggestion of smoothing the transfer down, always helps!
  • If you have pressed, smoothed, and let cool for the allotted time, and transfer is still not wanting to peel, don't be afraid to repress 1-2 times more if needed.
  • If you have any questions or need further help, please email us at wearedtftransfers@gmail.com for the quickest response. If you are needing help troubleshooting, it definitely helps to include pictures of your pressing temp + time & the pressing issue you are having!
